Last week’s big real estate news — the recorded $14.35 million sale of billionaire Robert E. Rich Jr.’s house at 101 Indian Road — focused the spotlight on houses and land in the adjacent neighborhood on the northern tip of Palm Beach, where many homes face either the ocean or the inlet.
The federally protected beach there is one of the widest and most pristine in Palm Beach, thanks to sand deposited on it from ongoing dredging operations at the inlet that accesses the Port of Palm Beach and the Intracoastal Waterway.
Among the homes for sale in the immediate neighborhood is 173 E. Inlet Drive, a three-bedroom house with a den; it backs up to the inlet and offers wide water views. Built in 1957 with 3,770 square feet of living space, inside and out, the house is listed at $3.95 million by agent Susan Reymond, who recently joined Sotheby’s International Realty. Records show Richard A. Raffo has owned the property since 1985.
…
Also on the far North End, Paulette Koch and Dana Koch of Corcoran Group have reported a pending sale in the Palm Beach MLS for their listing of 302 Caribbean Road, owned by Thomas D. Mottola and Ariadna Sodi Miranda. Not on the water, the house was last marketed at $7.395 million.

New Kids on the Block.
